Can blogging cure insomnia?

I can't sleep. It's nothing new, it happens all the time, and it is probably hormone related, at least that is what the doctors all say. I just can't fall asleep some nights.

Any chance that blogging might help with that? I don't know, but I know that sitting here and writing always makes me feel better. So even if it doesn't help me to sleep, at least it will get me to a somewhat happy place.

I now have a total of four blogs. This one for my general ramblings that have no purpose other than to be an outlet for myself. The others each have a specific purpose and reason for being and are special for that reason.

There is the book blog.  Tammommy Blogs on Books.
This is where I write book reviews of the books that I am reading. I love to read, and love to write, so this has been a long standing blog that ties both my loves together. I also have a number of Google plus communities that I joined to promote the book blog. I would really like it to be seen and to get some feedback on it. It has been seen by a couple of the author's of the books in the last few posts, which is really exciting. I always enjoying hearing from an author when I review their book. So things are going well there, just hoping to keep that going and grow it even more.

There is the new music blog.  Tammommy Blogs on Music.
This is where I post a country music video and blog a commentary about the song. It is not really a review of the song, but more of what the song makes me think of and what it means to me, sort of. I am enjoying writing it because I love music and I find that music is a huge part of life. It evokes emotions in all of us everyday, sometimes we are better at realizing it than at other times. Right now I am only posting once a week on this blog. I have two google plus communities that I promote this blog on. I also promote it on my twitter account.

The third blog is a business blog.  Tammommy Blogs on Business.
This is where I post business related blog posts. I have my store at CafePress that turns my original artwork into items and I promote that store on this blog. I am also a JewelScent rep and promote that business on the blog. Then there is my Etsy store and I promote it as well on the business blog.  As a stay at home mom, I have to do something to help pay for dance and show choir, so this business blog is what I do to try to make that happen.

Right now I just wonder what else I can do to get more traffic, and not just traffic, but people who will actually want to read the posts and be interested in them, to my blogs. How can I make them more popular and get them seen by the right people? I am not sure but that is what I am really trying to figure out, because I need to be doing what I can to help the family.

Of course, those are the things that go through your mind at 4am when you can't sleep! Guess I might just go ahead and read another book!

Books and Music

For the longest time now I have been reading and reviewing books. I love doing that and so I created my first blog just for that purpose. Then of course things got in the way and it became a mash, so last year I moved the book reviews to the new blog that it ONLY book reviews. I am loving it.

TAMMommy Blogs on Books

Of course just having my book blog wasn't enough, I needed a place to vent, to talk, to release my emotions and frustrations and so this little blog became my second blog to allow me to do that. I don't link this blog anywhere so most people don't know about it, it's just floating out there where I know I can write and feel better.

Lately I have really been wanting to venture out into talking about music, kinda like I do about books. I love music and there are a number of songs out there that have great messages that people just need to slow down, shut up and listen to. So the other day I went for it. I created a third blog for music. I only have one post there, but it is a great song, and I look forward to doing more.

TAMMommy Blogs on Music

Is it important? Probably not, will anyone read it? I hope so. Bu I know I wrote it and I hope that it gets out there to someone. Just like my book reviews, I just put them out there and hope they touch one person that makes a difference. That's all I can ask for in life. Right?!

Now, back to the job at hand....

Hormone Replacement Therapy

It's a hot topic, I know.  If you are in menopause or have a hysterectomy you have to decide whether you are going to do HRT or not.

If you are in menopause its  not as big of a question because you still have all your female parts and there are still manufacturing  some hormones just not as many as before. Now can you live on the lowered level, and are the risks worth taking the HRT to make things better? A loot depends on how much better the HRT would make your life.

If you had a hysterectomy then it depends more on whether they removed your ovaries or not. If you still have two, good function ovaries, then will will most likely have no need for HRT, which is great.  If you only have one ovary left, then it will depend on if that one can supply the whole body with enough hormones.  Of course is you are like me and the took everything out, the suitcase the scarf and the cute balls attached to the scarf, then you definitely need HRT.

My hysterectomy was three and a half years ago. The took everything because of issues in my uterus and my ovaries.  Then the dr asked me to wait six months and see how my body did on it's own before trying HRT. That was the start of a long hard struggle and journey. At six months it as awful,  so they tried a hormone, upped it as high as it would go, and then try to me that they don't know what to do and send me off to find another doctor.   That dr tried a specialized blend of nutrient and hormone supplements, but that didn't work, so now on to another doctor.

Tomorrow I start pellet HRT.  In pellet therapy, they run a lot o blood work before the therapy starts to analyze why we need as much of each hormone and create a special bled for each patient. Then the pellets and injected subdermally, just under the skin, so that they will slowly release the same amount of medicine at the same day and they last three to four months!  I am really hopeful for the pellet HRT, one because we have never done it yet, but nervous at the same time. I just want this to work.

I am tired of feeling like I am living in someone else's life. I want to make the decisions and enjoy my life. Continue to enjoy my kids and not be so tired and lost all the time.

I will continue to post, comments and keep you updated on how things go.
